Completed #HardWest2 within 23h. What a ride and a worthy successor. Some interesting new game mechanics, awesome music and sound, plenty of splatter, pew pew and dead men walking - what's not to like ❤️
(Oh and on Linux PC, as usual)

Koszmar zagościł na dzikich, nieokiełznanych Zachodnich Rubieżach. Studio Ice Code Games – twórcy #HardWest2 i #RogueWaters – powraca z #NightmareFrontier, taktycznym extraction looterem, który łączy klimat grozy z bezwzględną walką o łupy.

Hard West was so good, they made a Hard West 2. Hard West II is *also* very good, so I expect that eventually there will be a Hard West II 2. It's the story of a posse of hardened desperados who rob the wrong train and end up on a quest to wrest their souls back from the devil. *A* devil, anyway. A tactical old west rpg with eldritch themes, it features a diverse cast of characters, each with unique abilities and motivations. Combat is standard shoot-and-cover tactics with some fun additions like ricochets and supernatural abilities. Additionally, there's the bravado mechanic: a character who defeats an enemy gets "bravado", and their action points for the turn get refilled. This almost feels like cheating, but it's *so* satisfying to tear through an entire enemy posse in a single, well-orchestrated turn. Hard West II is definitely more mature and polished than the original, but I feel like the first game pushed more thoroughly into weird territory. Despite the fact that the game autosaves at the beginning of each turn (🎉), it took me *forever* to finish it, just because I found that when I put it down in the middle of a battle, I would completely forget my strategy by the time I picked it up again and have to start over anyway. Hard West II is great! If you liked the original or enjoy tactical rpgs or weird west, give it a try!
