A hard freeze and snow (1 in/2.5 cm) are forecast overnight, so this may well be the last hurrah for the garden.

The warm autumn so far meant that the leaves of the oakleaf hydrangea (H. quercifolia 'Ruby Slippers') are only just starting turning. I doubt I shall have long to enjoy their crimson shade.

Dug up pelargonium geraniums to overwinter indoors, and brought in a few pots to see how long their annuals can make it. Also pulled the very last green tomatoes.

Another #HardFreeze tonight. Definitely not normal. In past, maybe several frosts. If even a hard freeze, at most one per winter. Now, several per week. Not normal, no. 😔😳😥❄

Clearly I shall need to bring in any plants in the garden that need overwintering indoors by Monday night.

Well, we're supposed to get #HardFreeze starting Thurs night. I know, much of the country will have frigid stuff, but it's unusual for my area. We actually have exposed pipes, we wrap, we "let the water run." Went out and picked my little crop of green tomatoes and baby jalapenos. Those plants and everything else will die. I'll take my collection of potted cactus inside. Hope everybody will stay safe and ok. ❄🌬❄🌬💕
