Btw. so far I'm already doing such modifications for the Reddit World News feed: using the script from https://github.com/oliver/reddit-rss-modifier I can get a feed that links to the actual article (rather than to the RSS comment page), so that Handy News Reader automatically downloads the linked news articles, so I can read them later while the phone is offline. Looks like now I need a similar (more complex) tool also for Google News feeds.
