Please join us for some in-house de-escalation training. This training is being provided from curriculum from all the de-escalation training we have taken with Tim Franzen in conjunction with all the de-escalation training videos provided by No Kings partners. **This training is excellent for:**
1.) experienced marshals wanting a refresher;
2.) people with no prior experience who want to learn and become a part of our safety team;
3.) anyone curious about de-escalation and how these skills apply to everyday interactions
*Registering for training in no way obligates you for marshaling duties; however; we'd love for you to consider stepping into that role if you feel comfortable and are available. Trained marshals help ensure our events remain safe, organized, and welcoming for everyone.*
We are capping this training to 30 to ensure everyone gets the best possible experience. **We will be offering this Wed Mar 4 and Sun Mar 22. Please try to attend one of these (2) events before NK3 on Sat Mar 28th.** Let's get trained up sooner than later and build our peace marshal team while we have sufficient time to do so.
**Meeting is in the basement level of the church. Entrance is around back. Park in the grassy area behind the church or the small lot off to the side of the church. Please do not enter the church from the entrances off the main parking lot.**

All knitters and crocheters interested in creating Melt the ICE hats are welcome to join Stitch to Resist!
The Stitch to Resist fiber craft circle will meet every Thursday through March 26th to create a large number of Melt the ICE hats to be given away to protesters to wear on No Kings Day—and every day!
The color for No Kings Day is yellow, however, wearing of these red caps creates solidarity with the folks in Minnesota who have adopted this historical connection with the Norwegian resistance during WWII.
Bring your own yarn and needles or use the donated yarn available. Please purchase pattern $5 on Ravelry. Pattern is called Melt the ICE hat by Paul Neary. Proceeds go to immigrant aid groups. If you have a snack to share, bring it!

Join friends and neighbors on Shelburne Rd in South Burlington. We'll be demonstrating our support for democracy, the Constitution, and the rule of law. Bring your enthusiasm, a sign or an American flag, and invite a friend.
Our presence gives hope and inspiration to those who agree with us but who have not yet resolved to take action. And those who participate draw fresh energy from one another and from the positive community response.

The San Luis Obispo Board of Supervisors subcommittee, including Supervisors Ortiz-Legg and Paulding along with county staff, will present a follow-up report to the January 27 TRUTH Act Forum during the regularly scheduled board meeting on March 24 at 9:00 am. The report is expected to be posted on or around March 17.
Staff were previously directed to develop measures to:
- Exclude ICE from non-public areas of county facilities.
- Prohibit ICE from commandeering county property for raids or detentions.
- Require at least quarterly reporting on interactions between the Sheriff’s Office and ICE.
- Support families affected by ICE detentions.
- Rebuild trust within the community.
How to Provide Public Comment:
- In Person: You may speak for up to three minutes on agenda items and three minutes during general public comment. Please fill out a speaker slip at the front or back of the chamber and submit it to the clerk.
- Written Comment: Submit written comments by 5:00 pm the day before the meeting to ensure they are included in the agenda packet.
- Early Comment: A regular meeting on March 10 provides an additional opportunity to provide spoken or written comments before the report is published.
