Listening to Handel's Messiah, and thinking of the star-crossed love episode of Spooks / MI-5 with the Messiah sing-along (or was it choir.)
Ruth deserved better.
GREAT episode, great writing, great romance storyline that's stuck in my heart all these years.
I have a photo of said clots -- which I won't share here. But looking at that photo, I don't understand how he was even breathing at all.
What's especially surreal is that on Sunday night, my #OperaSinger father successfully performed #HandelsMessiah together with 150-person choir #CanterburyVoices and #OKCPhilharmonic.
And then less than three days later, he almost died because he couldn't breathe.

Yesterday I got to sing Handel’s “Messiah” for my first time since pre-pandemic.
We (Panoramic Voices and Central Texas Philharmonic) performed Part 1, “the Christmas part” and tossed in “Hallelujah Chorus” even though technically that is in “The Easter part.
That means only 1.5 hours of concert instead of three! Everyone got home in time for dinner and I still have voicel left for Christmas Eve services!:)

Coming up on BBC Radio 3 shortly, a Christmas performance of Handel's Messiah, in this case in the reorchestration by Mozart. From 19:30 tonight.
