I like to set my H-Directory posts a fortnight in advance. Both Starlight Radio, and my blog. I'd make a quick one here on Mastodon, but believe it or not, writing the blog post feels quicker.

I have completed the hanaak (metaphorical) edit for chapters 2 & 3. That means I'm about 80% done with this edit. I have also reached 10446 words, which makes it a novella - that was my goal when I began this edit.

Message for 1: Your mind is a temple, and you can dress it how you wish
Message for 2: Let's look at it another way - up close, the mind is extremely complex
Wright left in 2009, so Sims 3 and 4 don't count here. If anything, they're trying to replicate what 1 and 2 had, but they can't help but tell a different story.
In 1, every house is somebody's mind, and every family is a process of the mind. You can build the house how you wish - this is the idea. The Goth household is Will Wright's mind - He's a practical man, and he finds inspiration in strange places. This is a place of consequence - he fears that if he's not careful, he could ruin his whole life, hence the infamous fire event. But if he can make careful preparation of all kinds, he can prevent a worst case scenario.
You can remove the stove, add a fire alarm, and get Bella AND Mortimer to read cooking books. In essence, completing this task is a bit of witchcraft at work - Will Wright left The Sims before things went south, saving his own hide, and moving on to his next big project. Completing the tasks is a blessing to send him to a better position.
Will Wright's flavour is brilliant - it's Sesame Street, something so friendly with the use of monsters.
At his worst, he's made SimCity 2000. At his greatest, he has made SimCity 4.

I finally got SC4 to work on my Windows 11 and delved right into it after watching an expert build their city (It's incredible! I couldn't believe the possibilities in road modification). Something unlocked in my brain as I played, and now my mind is in overtime thinking of different possibilities.
SC2k is an incredibly hard game to strategise and work with. We're looking at one region, representing one compartment. It's hard to keep everything alive in the city because what we're receiving (water) is running out. This water represents what we believe is beneficial to our Spirit (all our being - our mental and physical health, our education, our recreation), but it can only do so much, and there is only so much of it at any given time.
This game is working as it should.
Secondary message for SC2k: Religion is holding us back
I'm watching Jersey Shore for the hanaak, but also, I needed the blandest thing to cure a psychic headache. I think the overall message is absolutely brilliant, despite... being Jersey Shore.
