Nicht nur fürs Fahren und die entspannte Organisation des Tages, sondern vor allem für das, was er im Hintergrund leistet. Die Firmware ist kein Selbstzweck – sie macht aus einem Standardgerät für Sehende ein Werkzeug, das für mich im Gelände wirklich nutzbar ist. Und das merkt man erst draußen, nicht am Schreibtisch.

Gerade solche Anpassungen zeigen, dass Barrierefreiheit im Amateurfunk keine große Theorie sein muss, sondern ganz konkret funktionieren kann, wenn sich jemand die Mühe macht, Dinge sauber zu durchdenken und umzusetzen.

In between everything else today, been working on a pair of laptops, getting them to, A) boot, B) boot from floppy, C) find a working floppy, D) writing a bootable operating system to that floppy.

somehow I prefer this mess to UEFI and booting from USB storage.

the oldest laptop has no USB ports. the next oldest has one USB port. one.

and HDDs that range from 4-8GB.

for the love of DOS software that has to have an actual hard ware serial port.

why?

to program radios, of course.

As if I do not have enough hobbies and free time... let's add one more :)
For my 41 birthday (this month) I ordered Tecsun PL-330 shortwave radio.

This will become an antenna. Radio should arrive soon after the Easter Holidays.

Конструирую яги на 70 см на 7 Эл.
Идея в том, чтобы она была до метра (удобно носить, есть кусок профиля) А так же хотелось разборную конструкцию.
Вообщем смоделил кронштейны для директоров. Туда втулочки, сверху крышки. Тестовая сборка прошла успешно. Но самое сложное- узел крепления и распайки вибратора- впереди.
