A ★★★ review of Halloween II (2009)

I’ve gone so back and forth on Halloween II over the years. I liked it okay when it first came out but then grew to dislike it and am back to the more positive side now. However, the Director’s Cut is absolutely the one to go with. I understand why audiences aren’t keen on this; it’s got the weird dream sequences that represent the Myers mental health issues, and Laurie is a messy, uncomfortable character to watch. For folks that just want their Shape killing people, that stuff isn’t going to work. But you know what? That’s what I like

After failing to kill stubborn survivor Laurie and taking a bullet or six from former psychiatrist Dr. Sam Loomis, Michael Myers has followed Laurie to the Haddonfield Memorial Hospital, where she's been admitted for Myers' attempt on her life. The institution proves to be particularly suited to serial killers, however, as Myers cuts, stabs and slashes his way through hospital staff to reach his favorite victim.
