Hello #FediHire and #HachyJobs / #HachyHire ! I'd like to take a moment to talk about how awesome Emelia is!

Both #Hachyderm and #Nivenly benefit from Emelia's expertise, and so do many on the Fediverse due to her Trust & Safety work. This means if you're on the Fedi, doubly so if you're on a Mastodon instance, you're benefitting from her work.

Emelia takes donations as her work centers the community: support.thisismissem.social

Emelia also takes paid contracting work, which I can confirm she does a brilliant job with. You can reach out to her directly about this.

I've currently been doing a tonne of work on Doorkeeper, a Mastodon dependency for OAuth, and currently that work is mostly uncompensated. I'm also doing a reasonable amount of work on the standards side (W3C & IETF), which is also uncompensated. I'm not making ends meet at the moment, so if you can spare €5-10 a month, please do consider supporting my work on Mastodon, Doorkeeper, standards, and the wider Fediverse. I'm currently running a deficit of about €1000-1600 per month, which is completely unsustainable. (there's also one-time, but ongoing support is what enables me to do this important work) https://support.thisismissem.social #mastodon #fediverse

📣 🏳️‍⚧️ 🇪🇺

Hello all! I've been in the process of moving to Europe and will be over there shortly. As part of that, I've been expanding my professional network to include employers in Europe.

What this means: I am able to start passing along résumés to people. Priority is currently for trans people who would benefit from worker visas to leave the United States.

I will be able to post more once I'm over there and I have more connections.

That said, if you're trans and looking for work in the EU, please feel free to DM me what types of jobs you're skilled in and I will let you know if it's in my current network or update you when it is.

ALSO relevant to all of this:

The #NivenlyJobCouncil  earlier this year was working on an anonymized job board that would, transparently, really assist with this effort. We're seeing parties interested in using and / or continuing this work.

Therefore:

* If you have expertise in either Go (what the backend is written in), front end development (the front end has yet to be built), or are interested in assisting with the Nivenly Infra team that we're building to manage the projects

AND

* Would like to work on something that will help at risk job seekers find work

Please pop over to our Discord as I'd love to chat with you.

 ❤️

あkiraめってないで! (Help Me Find Remote Work Please :blobfoxwhoaa: !) (@[email protected])

I was asked if I had a post for my 'find work' push :3 Looking for: Remote work or work in a country where I can be trans (will require visa sponsorship/local equivalent) Me: Pre-early-career software engineer working out a path out of the US due to recent events. Currently in school (2 year), perfect grades in CS classes so far (2nd semester currently), tutored CS since mid-1st-semester; new to school, not to code. Programming languages: Python, C#, C++, some C, willing to learn others Regular languages: small basis in German and Japanese Before this semester I was working on a file editor for an arcade music game; I'd made/modified a few tools to that end (python interface to the music chart format, sound format repacking in C, relevant reversing of said formats, modifying open source software to observe cabinet LED behavior (C++)), whole project paused on making a frontend (godot) when this semester started. I also made youhavetoliveyour.life on django + some modest bash scripts for deploying
