No physics? No problem. AI weather forecasting is already making huge strides.

New model that predicts global weather can run on a single desktop computer.

For a good stretch #HWRF, deprecated now, was an active project and motivation to, you know...do modeling things of open source nature, that sorta united certain tribes for good purpose, so to speak. That age is still ongoing but you do have to wonder if this other extremal storm regime- that of the #tornado now , has wandered into an averaging distribution, #Climate being what it is. A fixed, or several fixed points, would be devastating and of planetary significance. But it's too soon to tell
The Tropical Storm #Idalia Forecast Discussion and update for Monday, August 28 issued 4 PM CDT / 5PM EDT. Still hewing to expectations for the most part. Slight track revision westward. HH and NOAA observations ongoing

Last #HWRF track for TS #Idalia and data page (note: HWRF is now a "legacy model", deprecated in the scheme of things but not yet living in a cardboard box). See the current #HFSA (shiny young thing) and ensemble tracks at 2nd link below. Note *the page header is not updating* when the map loads. Pick North Atlantic basin in the left sidebar dropdown to be sure the page loads the right map !

Sniff. Have put this off since last month but alas , March of time. #HWRF is in deprecation mode , easing out in favor of younger, prettier models. Okay...it's more complicated than that but progress, being what it is, and accelerating always, shall not be held back for sake of sentiment...
