Is there a good guide for porting various old school dialects of BASIC to FreeBASIC or at least QBASIC for which it has a compatibility mode?
I'm trying to port some old HP 2000 Timeshare BASIC and some Applesoft BASIC to FreeBASIC and I'm hitting road blocks. I'm aiming to get the projects to complile successfully in QB mode first before migrating to FreeBASIC's native mode.

I fixed a couple more bugs in the DnD game on the HP2000. Heal was broken, and the FD 'Fight to the Death' mode basically just killed you. Oops. These were typos when entering that old text code into the system. On the upside, it is very stable and working. Now to start smoothing out the text display and remove some of the testing 'you are here' stuff I put in to debug it. There is no debugger in the HP2000 BASIC!
Success! I have the HP2000/Access TimeShare BASIC version of DND running! I have it setup so you can Telnet in. Here's how:
1. Set your telnet client up to use ^H for backspace (I use PuTTY)
2. Telnet to frieltek.com:2323
3. Press ^M ^J to get the login prompt
4. Type in HELLO-T001.DNDTST,2 and press Enter.
5. Enjoy!

I run an HP2000/Access system on the internet, lots of vintage fun with BASIC! I may have accidentally done the #HP3000 and meant to do the #HP2000.

Made some nice progress today on the DND game running on the HP2000! I actually found the limit on code for any single program, so I had to split the main DND up with a second program that can be CHAIN'd into and then back again. Think of it as putting the GOSUBs in another program and then returning when needed.
