French Tech : La militarisation de la très haute altitude
The BALMAN mission was successfully performed today. At 4:00 UTC, the balloon was launched from the observation point "Colibri" near the Ariane 6 launch pad of the Centre Spatial Guyanaise in Kourou.
After reaching an altitude of 17.8 km the mission was terminated and the balloon impacted in the Atlantic Ocean, 42 km NE of Kourou.
The total flight time was 3 hours.

After some training performed at the Aire Sur L'Adour centre CNES is ready to test in flight for the first time the BALMAN steerable balloon.
The test will ake place at the Centre Spatial Guyanaise in French Guiana between Oct. 30 and Nov. 15.
