I may be a tech #nerd, but I am not an AV nerd. Typical tech logic says the newer feature is better, however I recently discovered that always-on #hdr makes #sdr content look awful and not just a little. I've had it on since I first bought my 4k HDR TV. I didn't realize how bad it looked until fixed, it's like a new TV.

Turn on whatever "match content" setting your box has. It the screen may flash as its changing, so a lot of streaming boxes turn it off by default. It is worth it.
