By 2025 the practice had become standard procedure, with doctored photographs routinely credited to the Prime Minister’s Office as though they were unaltered.
This practice is understood and more than silly vanity: a press office that manipulates images is a press office that cannot be trusted, and the pattern fits a broader project of state-managed reality.
