First time the NYTimes has done anything interesting in a long time.

"The #NewYorkTimes has hired #Atlantic staff #writer #YairRosenberg to launch a national beat covering #Jewish #American life, bringing a widely known #journalist on #antisemitism and Jewish affairs to a #newspaper whose coverage of Israel and the Jewish community has been under unusually intense scrutiny since the #Oct7, 2023, #Hamas attack.

The appointment, announced Monday by National #Editor #NestorRamos, creates a dedicated beat focused on #AmericanJews at a moment when questions of antisemitism, #Israel, religious identity and political polarization have moved to the center of public debate.

It is the first time that the #newspaper, published in the city with the world’s largest Jewish population, has a beat dedicated to #Jews."

National Unity and Partnership… the Only Option to Confront the War of Annihilation: Palestinian National Forces

In the light of the most critical phase the Palestinian cause is going through, and the ongoing war of genocide waged by the Israeli occupation against our people in the Gaza Strip, and the escalation of aggression in the West Bank and Jerusalem, and the accompanying systematic policies of forced displacement, ethnic cleansing, annexation, and the imposition of facts on the ground, the Palestinian national forces affirm that their national and historical responsibility requires them to work by all means to strengthen national unity and consolidate the principle of true partnership in decision-making, in order to safeguard the future of our national project and confront the existential challenges.

Based on this responsibility, the Palestinian national forces emphasize the following principles and positions:

First: The Palestinian people need to develop their national institutions and strengthen their ability to resist the Zionist colonial project in line with their national priorities. From this perspective, we see the danger of any attempts to re-engineer the Palestinian political system in response to external pressures or dictates, and stress that any process of rebuilding or activating national institutions, including elections, must be based on genuine national partnership that includes all Palestinian forces and components, and enjoys national consensus that reinforces their political and national legitimacy.

Second: The real path to restoring national unity and renewing the legitimacy of national institutions and rebuilding them begins with calling for a comprehensive national dialogue that includes all Palestinian forces and factions, based on the principles of partnership, democracy, and national consensus, leading to binding outcomes for all, preventing any form of exclusion or isolation, and serving the goals of our people in national liberation.

Third: The Palestinian national forces call on the President to urgently convene a meeting of the secretaries-general of Palestinian factions, as a national imperative that cannot be postponed, with the aim of launching a comprehensive national dialogue that establishes a genuine political partnership and formulates a unified national and combat strategy to confront the current challenges, and discuss major national issues, foremost of which is reaching an agreement on holding comprehensive Palestinian elections, including elections for the Palestinian National Council, ensuring the widest possible participation and fair representation for all Palestinian forces and groups, on the basis that expanding the base of participation in the National Council would strengthen the position of the Palestine Liberation Organization, renew its national legitimacy, and consolidate its role as the sole legitimate representative of our Palestinian people.

Fourth: The unified interim leadership framework, which was agreed upon in national reconciliation agreements, most recently the Beijing Agreement, represents a unified transitional national reference capable of leading this phase and strengthening national partnership and ensuring the continuity of national institutions on a consensual basis, preserving national decision-making unity and enhancing collective responsibility in confronting challenges.

Fifth: The national dialogue must be based on solid foundations, foremost of which is rejecting the policies of exclusion and isolation, respecting political pluralism, and committing to a unified national combat program to confront the crimes of the occupation and plans to liquidate the Palestinian cause, and adhering to the consensus of the national consensus, foremost of which is the right of return, self-determination, and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with full sovereignty and its capital in Jerusalem, based on relevant international resolutions, and working to strengthen the resilience of our people in confronting aggression, settlement, and Judaization.

Sixth: The magnitude of the existential threats targeting our people and national cause, and the accompanying projects aimed at displacement, ethnic cleansing, annexation, and the liquidation of Palestinian national rights, impose on everyone to prioritize the supreme national interest, unite ranks and energies, and agree on a unified political and combat program that constitutes a unified national reference in confronting the Israeli project and defending our people’s resilience, land, identity, and holy sites, and defending their inalienable national rights.

In conclusion, the Palestinian national forces affirm that the historic moment our national cause is going through requires the highest degree of responsibility, unity, and solidarity. The real challenge in confronting the war of annihilation and liquidation plans lies in consolidating national unity and strengthening the inclusive national institution within the framework of the Palestine Liberation Organization on the basis of comprehensive national partnership.

As the signatory forces present this position to our Palestinian people, national and Islamic forces, and living institutions, they renew their call for an urgent national response to convene a comprehensive national meeting, which will lead to the formulation of a unified national strategy and pave the way for holding comprehensive democratic elections to rebuild our national institutions on democratic and participatory foundations, thereby protecting the resistance project, strengthening our people’s steadfastness, and preserving their national unity in this critical phase.

Long live Palestine…

Glory and eternity to the martyrs… A speedy recovery to the wounded… Freedom for the prisoners…

And we will inevitably be victorious.

Senior Israeli intelligence and Southern Command officials warned IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir that Hamas is preparing for renewed war, according to Kan News.

The officials said Hamas is producing hundreds of explosive devices and anti-tank missiles each month, recruiting fighters aged 18 to 22, training Nukhba militants, attempting to smuggle drones and communications equipment from Sinai, and rebuilding underground infrastructure across Gaza.

They also warned that Hamas remains strong on the ground, faces no real threat to its control, and is unwilling to give up power in Gaza.

The IDF has told the U.S. that fighting should resume, while Washington opposes renewed combat and wants to preserve the current framework agreement.
