#Gusev #Crater is a large impact crater on Mars, approximately 166 kilometers in diameter, which was the landing site for NASA's Spirit rover in 2004.

While initially thought to be an ancient lakebed, Spirit's exploration of its floor primarily revealed volcanic basaltic rocks, though subsequent discoveries in its Columbia Hills suggested evidence of past water activity, including potential hot springs.
