Gundam Build Fighters: GM's Counterattack is a good prequel to Gundam Build Fighters Try, bridging the two GBF series pretty well. It’s probably best to watch it after Try, though, (which is what I was advised to do), since it might ruin a few of the surprises early in Try.
Gundam Build Fighters: Battlogue is the ultimate in Gundam fanservice… Five ten-minute episodes of non-stop Gundam dream battles. No story to worry about, just Gundams fighting for your entertainment.
Finished up my rewatch of Gundam Build Fighters, and while I’d like to say it was as good as the first time I watched it, that’s not a valid statement since I had forgotten about 90% of the series!
It’s been nearly eleven years, so that’s no surprise, really.
What is true is that it was really fun rediscovering the series, and I did enjoy it quite a bit. I had completely forgotten the finale too, of course, which featured a final battle which would have been at home in any mainline Gundam series.
With my refresher course on the Gundam Build Fighters continuity now complete, I’m ready to start watching Gundam Build Fighters Try next, which I have not seen at all yet! I’m looking forward to that, to see what connections it might have to the first series. (Don’t tell me though; I want to find out for myself!)
Ahh, the episode where Aila rebels against her handlers and claims her freedom. One of my favorite parts of the series. Now she can get back to more important matters, like fighting Reiji for meat buns.
So glad the “Nils Nielsen being a conceited jerk” arc is finally over in my Gundam Build Fighters rewatch. I forgot how much I couldn’t stand that kid.
