Today’s #GullOfTheDay is this beautiful first cycle Ring-billed Gull. The Ring-billed Gull is a three-year gull, meaning it (typically) reaches adult plumage in three years. We say “typically” because there is an exception to every rule made about every gull!

It's time for another #GullOfTheDay! This Short-billed Gull can be distinguished from Ring-billed Gull by overall shape and structure - finer bill, rounder head w/ higher crown, & overall daintier structure. In flight you'd see a brown tail, instead of a white tail with brown/black band on tip. 🪶
