Sad news from the garden. The garlic is not doing so well. I think it is too wet. We are almost at double our average rainfall for this month. They may* have to come out.
*ie "probably will" or "definitely will.
Meanwhile silly things keep flowering even tho we are well into winter - tomatoes, strawberries. Borage is still growing and flowering. And, in season, you should see the broad beans! Woah!
It's easy to forget the implications of corn being grass until you find the old man cat trying to gum it to death.
Mercifully, he had all his teeth removed several months ago.
By the way, I'm really loving the Painted Mountain corn. It is beautiful.
after mistakenly trusting a facebook marketplace seller to sell me organic beeswax (nope, it was clearly some nasty synthetic shit dyed bright yellow, what a fool i am), i ordered some online... and it just arrived.
it promises to be locally harvested in a harm-free way for the bees (#beekeepers is this a real thing?).
and it smells, according to my boo, like a blueberry pogo.
i want to swim in it. but instead i'll make a salve, once i have enough calendula blooms harvested.
Brought this random selection of cut flowers home from the plot. Snapdragon, cornflower, geum, sweet pea, macedonian scabious and a dill flower stem.
Stuck the bunch in a drinking glass when I got home thinking I'd separate and arrange them later but I like them mixed together ๐ #allotment #growyourown #bloomscrolling
Oh boy, it looks like I might gonna get zucchinis! Look at those buds!
