Maidstone borough council’s Green Party group has just grown a little stronger after two defections to its ranks.

Cllr Richard Conyard, who has represented Penenden Heath Ward on Maidstone Borough Council for the Liberal Democrats since May 2022, has joined the Greens.

At the same time, Cllr Vanessa Jones, who has represented Boxley Downs Ward as an Independent since May 2023, has also declared for the Greens.
