Getting back into these. Number 488 in Rolling Stone's top 500 albums of all time is The Stooges, ‘The Stooges’ from 1969.
The first album on the list that I've previously listened to a bunch of times.
Great album. No notes.

Well they're about to put a twice-impeached convicted felon serial sexual assaulter back in the White House for 4 more years so why not have this 4-disc compilation album by convicted murderer Phil Spector in the top 500 albums of all time? 🙃
That said, every single one of the actual artists, musicians, and songs on this box set are EXTREMELY my jam! Absolute classics.
#489. Various Artists, Back to Mono (1958-1969), 1991.
Next up is from 1975, Linda Ronstadt, ‘Heart Like a Wheel’. The 490th best album of all time according to Rolling Stone.
Loved it! When Will I Be Loved. Absolute classic banger.

I was a bit surprised to see this one on the top 500 albums of all time list, but hey, I guess they have to include some recent ones too, don't they?
Number 491 is ‘Harry’s House’ by Harry Styles from 2022.
Sorry Harry, this one just wasn't for me, but if I was a teenage girl I'd be swooning. Keep at it!
I'm continuing this Rolling Stone top 500 albums journey. Number 492 is Bonnie Raitt, ‘Nick of Time’ from 1989. Really enjoying this one. More my comfort zone, bluesy, 80s, a slight country twang. Gonna have another listen right now!
Album 493 is Marvin Gaye, ‘Here, My Dear’ from 1978, which I've been listening to on MiniDisc for the past few days. Real soulful. And I just wanna share the write up from Rolling Stone:
It’s one of the weirdest Motown records ever. Marvin Gaye’s divorce settlement required him to make two new albums and pay the royalties to his ex-wife – the sister of Motown boss Berry Gordy. So Gaye made this bitterly funny double LP of breakup songs, including “You Can Leave, But It’s Going to Cost You.” When he asks “Somebody tell me please, tell me please/Why do I have to pay attorney fees?” it’s one of the most strangely transfixing soul-music moments of all time.
Listened to this one 4 times today. Now we're talking. A true classic. Number 494, The Ronettes, ‘Presenting the Fabulous Ronettes’ from 1964. “Be My Baby” and “Baby, I Love You” on the same album. Perfection. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-lists/best-albums-of-all-time-1062063/the-ronettes-presenting-the-fabulous-ronettes-2-1062739/
Back on this Rolling Stone album countdown. Number 495 is Boyz II Men, ‘II’ from 1991. Again, not an album I would usually listen to, but it was excellent. So smooth. A real mood. And damn I forgot how big “I’ll Make Love to You” was back in the day. Great song. Great album. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-lists/best-albums-of-all-time-1062063/boyz-ii-men-ii-1062738/
Today we're listening to Shakira, ‘Dónde Están los Ladrones’ which is number 496 on Rolling Stone's top 500 albums of all time. It's incredible. I wish I spoke Spanish. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-lists/best-albums-of-all-time-1062063/shakira-donde-estan-los-ladrones-1062737/
Up next is ‘The Indestructible Beat of Soweto’, a 1985 compilation "world music" album. I've listened a few times over the past few days and I love it. Has me involuntarily dancing and grooving around the kitchen every time!
