anyhoo it got me thinking about one difference between the #answers you get from #ChatGPT vs #google : #sources - google gives you the sources of those answers (or the means of tracing them); the #AI doesn't (i haven't tried asking it for its sources but watch this space). (maybe it's my #humanities / #LiberalArts background, but i think sources are important, are valuable.)

instead, chatGPT basically functions as an #oracle - but at least in the old days you had to travel to it, make #BurntOfferings, there was some #ceremony to it. now it's everything everywhere all at once, but also the #UltimateConsultant: supremely, infinitely #confident and #indefatigable.

and while our leaders fiddle, the #GreatRetrenchment looms ...
