Something new is brewing! Working on Git Page Link for Grav – a standalone plugin that grew out of open authoring work on the Helios Course Hub.
Adds a Git repository link to any page using Git Sync with configurable mode (edit/view/repo), icon, position, and more. Sometimes a side project becomes its own thing. 👀

One Decade, One Throughline: Seven Open-Source Projects for Open Education and Publishing
A retrospective on seven open-source projects for open education and publishing, and the single idea that connects them all.
In late 2015 I started to build my first open-source tool for educators. I didn't think of it that way at the time. I just had a problem I needed to solve. Storing everything inside a Learning Management System meant the content lived with the institution or the vendor, in formats constrained to a platform. That was true in 2015. It's more true now, as platforms consolidate and the companies behind them change hands.
Pretty excited to share the news of the 1.0 release of my newest open-source project, Grav Helios Course Hub – the successor to my original Open Course Hub project.
Built entirely as a plugin, it transforms the Grav Premium Helios theme into a multi-course companion site. One hub, any number of courses, context-aware search, and all content is stored as simple Markdown text files.

I've just put together a small plugin called Admin Helios Refresh that gives the Grav Admin Panel theme a bit more of a modern feel — zinc dark nav, accessible blues, rounded corners, subtle shadows, and focus rings. It's Helios-inspired but works with any Grav site.
