I shared poems with a friend yesterday. In tears, she said I should publish them but she had 2 requests. One of just the poems + another of me reading them. She said I have a way of saying what she’s feeling.

This terrifies me but enough people have told me to publish my poems that I may figure it out someday. Writing poetry has been a *huge* outlet for me.
Another friend just texted me a poem + we agreed to figure out publishing together.

Today there was an event in my office for International Women’s Day. I’m beyond swamped so did not attend. I was walking away from my desk when I heard my boss’s boss’s boss’s boss call my name. In my head, I thought “am I in trouble?!” Then I turned toward him heading towards me and my colleague with 2 bunches of flowers that he said were for us. He expressed gratitude for us both as he handed them to us.

In an unexpected twist, I offered to go to the office tomorrow when I was planning to work from home.
Things are beyond hectic at work. My boss appreciated my offer and he told me to leave early since I’m going to be at the office tomorrow. Granted, that was not even 30 minutes before my usual leaving time. After shutting my computer down, I left 10 minutes early. Still taking that as a win.
I’ll be home soon. At least tomorrow is Friday.
I have 3 episodes left to watch in Stranger Things season 4. I’m grateful to have finished adulting today so I can watch some episodes while it’s still light out.
It’s not the type of show I watch right before bed because I don’t want to have nightmares.
Mmm, it smells so good in my place.

I baked gluten-free banana muffins for the week using a Stellar Eats mix. Yay for a Canadian company that makes yummy gluten-free treats.

I’m now seeing adulting as self-care so feeling proud of myself for doing all that I have done today.
Today I took myself to a forest for some much-needed nature time. There’s a Save-On grocery store nearby so I stopped in.
They have a *huge* health section. The nutritionist came to see if I was finding everything + I mentioned I was happy to see the selection of brands.
I noted one for hot flashes + he was surprised I needed that. He said he thought I was 35 but I told him I’ll be 55 this year.
I love seeing surprised reactions to my age.

Costco on a Saturday afternoon. So. Busy.
Thank you to the kind man who helped carry my very full and heavy granny cart up the stairs at the SkyTrain station next to Costco. My cart is one that climbs stairs but it’s quite heavy.
Very inconvenient to not have an elevator or an up escalator at that entrance to the station.
I attended a free workshop by Elaine Denton last Sunday called “How to do YOU”
Biggest takeaway for me:
My inner critic was just an opinion I did not have to listen to. She said to send it to the corner. So now I send my inner critic to the corner in my mind! Love it!
I discovered her podcast late last year when searching for “self love” and have attended 2 of her free workshops.

My relationship with food has changed. I’m no longer craving crap + I’m forgetting to eat. Who *am* I?! My stomach was growling so I put a gluten-free waffle in the toaster oven. I haven’t even eaten half since I keep thinking of things I need to do. Just sat back down to eat the rest.
Past me would’ve been wolfing it down + looking for the next thing. Trying to fill a hole that cannot be filled with food.
Eating to live instead of living to eat.
