Nakonec o půl roku dřív: čas na nový mobil, jelikož mi můj starý blbne už vícero způsoby (novinka: náhodně zhasíná displej).
Nevítaná investice 🫤, ale konečně aspoň budu mít možnost přejít na #GrapheneOS, manželka ho už nějakou dobu používá, instalace je naprosto snadná.
Mobil jsem vybral Pixel 9a, taková aktuálně nejlevnější a dobrá volba.

a week ago i finished my migration to #grapheneos

good parts: can ssh into my phone and can fine-tune permissions

what i miss after using iphones for almost two decades: a smoothly working camera, a consistent user interface (including things like tap-to-scroll-to-top, password manager), reliable notification delivery, and airplay

what i had to give up (but wasn't too hard): face id, find my, airdrop, carplay, messages (imessage), safari, wallet

bonus: even though the screen size is nearly the same, the #pixel 10a feels bigger than my #iphone. naked, it's too slippery; in a case, it's bulky and still a bit slippery…

oh well,.. i guess that's the price you pay for having rsync on your phone ❤️

Had a panic this morning as my #Fairphone 4 was dead. Wouldn't respond to the power button no screen nothing. Had to remove the battery for a few seconds and put it back in. Booted up fine then, I wonder if this is a sign for me to source a replacement ? Although I'm not decided on getting a Fairphone 5 that can run #Linux or #IodeOS or whether to get a pixel pro 9 and go with #GrapheneOS ? I'll probably end up procrastinating until my FP4 dies properly knowing me. 🙃

Meine private Welt mit #linux #Endeavoeros und #nexcloud #grapheneos #raspberry QNAP #nas und div. Diensten wie #ssh, #smb hab ich so seit 20 Jahren aufgebaut.
Meine Motivation, anderen dabei zu helfen, hat sich in letzter Zeit vermindert.
Viele Freunde, die ich auf Linux oder Raspi supportet habe, kommen nach 4 Wochen oder 4 Monaten mit: Naja, aber ..... geht nicht.
Dann steht man auf der Matte und frickelt rum und kann oder will das nicht erklären
