✔️ Zeichenstil: Flüssig und dynamisch – aber nicht besonders

Zu Ostern gab es bei Comicgate ein metaphysisches Mysterienspiel von Grant Morrison und Jon J. Muth.
Währenddessen an Ostern: Die 90er Jahre des letzten Jahrhunderts waren DAS Jahrzehnt für Grant Morrison. Nachdem er in den 80ern seine Duftmarken gesetzt hatte und bereits die fabelhafte Doom Patrol geschrieben hatte, startete er kreativ voll durch und prägte das Vertigo-Imprint des DC-Verlags mit Titeln wie The Invisibles, Flex Mentallo, Sebastian O, Kill your Boyfriend oder The Mystery Play. Das waren erfreulich oft Arbeiten, die nicht von Superhelden handelten. Man liest in verschiedenen Quellen, dass Grant Morrison in den frühen Jahren seiner Karriere auch als Dramatiker in Erscheinung getreten ist. Über diesen – vermutlich kurzen – Zeitraum ist wenig bekannt – die Graphic Novel The Mystery Play, gestaltet von Jon J. Muth, gibt aber eine klare Ahnung davon, wie ein Bühnenstück von Morrison ausgesehen haben könnte. The Mystery Play ist ein metaphysisches Drama, das man sich gut in Bühnenbildern vorstellen kann, ein Stück über ein Theaterstück, genauer, ein „Mysterienspiel“, ein bisschen wie Oberammergau, das nicht nur von der Kreuzigung, sondern auch von der Vertreibung aus dem Paradies handelt.
