On re-reading it, I remain particularly proud of this sentence:

"Thus, it may be true, as Freadman (2020) remarks, that rhetorical genre theory has limited stability, a short future, and a modest ambition (pp. 107–108). However, it must be noted that the near omnipresence of genre in human interaction ensures that its modest ambition is to be a mild, subdued form of grand theory."
