I have since read the Googoosh book and it is fabulous! What a life though:
She was a child star, main breadwinner for her family, had a brutal (unhinged) step-mother, married at 17 to escape, had her only child, three abortions and two more husbands AND her money stolen by her manager - all before she was 30.
That and more is all pre Iranian Revolution. Post Revolution we have imprisonment and near house arrest for 20 odd years till she eventually escaped from the country.

A memoir by Googoosh in English?? Have I understood this right? A real star, a real singer, an icon.
“Bavar Kon” and “Behesht” are my favourites of her songs. The latter is the track she recorded in support of Iran’s LGBTQ community.
However flawed, I have got to read this.
