My phone's battery has turned into a "Spicy Pillow".

Yesterday, I wondered why the screen was popping-up on one corner. The phone's getting a bit old, and had a few hard drops on solid ground, and a few months ago I replaced the screen.

Last night, I let the battery go flat and opened-up the phone to inspect the battery. Initially, this led me to believe the battery was okay, and maybe the waterproof adhesive gasket that holds on the screen had given-way. But, then I tried to fast-charge the phone, and it popped-up again.

Batteries are not supposed to inflate, deflate, and inflate again with charge-cycling and thermal-cycling as though they're breathing.

So, I popped-out the battery as a safety precaution, and have ordered a replacement.

I've gotta say, it's pleasing to find a device that's designed for manufacture yet also designed for repair. Screws are all the same size, cables have a bit of "slop" and are socketed, adhesives aren't onerous, and important components are labelled.
