Dat het #kolonialisme in #Suriname erg was in de periode van de slavernij wist ik al uit het boek van John Gabriel Stedman. Maar dat het na de afschaffing van de slavernij eigenlijk in nauwelijks gewijzigde vorm doorging, dat shockeerde me flink.
"Wij slaven van Suriname" is een prachtig geschreven boek van een bevlogen mens met een leven vol kwellingen, Anton de Kom.

தெருவைப் பார்த்தேன். ரோஜா பூவிதழ்கள் காற்றில் அலைபாய்ந்து கொண்டிருந்தன.
பறையொலியையும் பூச்சிதறல்களையும் கண்டு யாரோ இறந்துவிட்டார்கள் என்று முதலில் நான் எண்ணியது உண்மை என்றே இப்போது தோன்றுகிறது.
