That wording doesn't really clear *anything* up, at least to this unfrozen caveman. You can turn this off before the deadline, or if you've already turned it off, it'll stay off. Buuuuuut it will still interact with WhatsApp etc whether it's on or off, and you can change that in the App settings page?

Does that mean you have to turn off "share my app usage with Gemini" in every app you install on your phone? Unknown. Or is it a single setting on a page for the Gemini app (if it's even an app?)? Dunno. Or something else? Is there actually a settings page called "App"? No idea.

It seems like it might be strategic ambiguity - see also no default assumption of good faith for Google in another part of the thread.

Life has been better since I've started practicing not fighting with #emotional #trolls in #comment sections as much. Especially for hot button topics like #ai or #gender issues. Gotta fight the urge to believe that if I just keep explaining my #reasoning that eventually they'll understand my position. I can think of maybe two or three people #online (all on #fediverse, interestingly) that I think would actually listen to my #arguments in #goodfaith.
