The highest human-occupied #Australian rock shelter from the Last Glacial Maximum, peak Ice Age 20,000 years ago.

'Archaeologists say the huge rock hollow was a camping spot “kind of like the Hyatt of the mountains”, occupied continuously until about 400 years ago.'
..
'The groundbreaking study, funded by the Australian Museum Foundation, was a collaboration between archaeologists and Aboriginal custodians who have spent six years mapping rock shelters across the greater Blue Mountains area, spanning 1m hectares of mostly untouched wilderness west of Sydney.

'Some sites are known only to a handful of Aboriginal people or intrepid bushwalkers. Others have only just been rediscovered.'

“The environment and justice movements are increasingly under threat of legal sanctions and arrest for acts of nonviolent resistance to the extractive industries, especially logging and fossil fuels.” — David Shoebridge

NSW courts have recently delivered a hefty prison sentence for a lady who blocked a lane of traffic for less than 30 minutes to protest climate disruption, while giving the green light to yet another massive #FossilGas project involving the destruction of native forest (against the repeatedly expressed urgings of local #Gomeroi people and against the evidence of one of Australia's top climate scientists).

#introduction I live on #Gomeroi country near #narrabri in northwest NSW. We practice #regenerative #ag and we don’t want to live in a gasfield and are concerned about emissions from coal. I’d like a positive, renewable energy fed future and am trying to figure out the best role I can play in that. I started not for profit renewables company Geni.Energy.
