Great to hear about the Technician Commitment initiative out of the UK from Matt Horstwood (on behalf of Dan Condon) in #Goldschmidt2023 Session 14e. Starting out my research life in a whole variety of labs certainly gave me an appreciation for the value of technical staff, and the consequences of insufficient support individually and across research departments.
Interestingly, the University of Sydney has now signed onto this previously UK-only program.

*Maxwell Lechte*
Palaeoredox and environmental constraints on early eukaryote ecosystems: insights from the Greater McArthur Basin, northern Australia
For those interested in open source tools and software in geochemistry, petrology and related fields, the #Goldschmidt2023 session "Geoscientists’ Little Helpers – small software tools with big impact" is showcasing a wide ensemble of new and existing projects across the community. It's certainly nice to see a spotlight on all of these things enabling new science across the community!
