I reckon observing this #goldendewdrop bush and its flowers from the footpath, is one of the highlights of the day.

The flowers are hearty, yet delicate in appearance and the tips (outside rim) of each flowering petal almost looks as if it’s shimmering in the morning light, as the deep purples bleed out into white.

This one appears healthy. And very happy growing in #ormond #Australia… and I bet it grabs the attention of many who walk past here, as it’s a busy thoroughfare within inner-suburban Melbs.

It’s botanic name is #Durantaerecta and is a species of flowering shrub, native from Mexico to South America and the Caribbean.

The #goldendewdrop is a flowering shrub native from Mexico to South America and the Caribbean.

Note: they’re not ‘golden’ 🤔

It is widely grown as an ornamental plant in tropical and subtropical gardens world-wide.

The petals are visually pleasing. I love the shadings where the white and purple bleed into each other on the petal tip and the inner stoma.

So intricate and oh so beautiful!
