Unfortunately I think they forgot to put any salt into my "Eat Real hummus sea salt flavour" #vegan chips. The structure is nice, shows great promise, but the taste? There wasn't any, I'm afraid. Would not buy again, but maybe they make another better flavour. Points 1/5.
Next up, one of my all time favourites, and one new one.
#Cucumber has always been one of my most favourite #vegan products, just can't get enough of it! Crispy, juicy, great as a snack, on top of bread or on salads. Recommend it, points 5/5!
Combined and separately tasted, some "Chili seitan" slices from Papu. Having tried many vegan slices, the texture surprised me positively. Many slices don't have much texture and seem just compressed stuff, this actually gives you something to chew. The taste is pretty good as well, though I'm not such big on chili so might not buy these many times. Especially when combined with the strong garlic hummus. Points 3/5.
Let's not forget the central thing of the two former #vegan posts - the hapankorppu! Crunchy, tasty and you can put pretty much anything on them. Oululaisen are the best, imho, these have been with me for all my life pretty much. Absolutely great when reading a good #book for example.
Ps. "This is not a drill" is a book everyone should read. The #climatecrisis is here and has been here for some time, and we literally need to act now or perish. Happy to borrow should someone in #Helsinki want to read it, though you can also find it in at @kirjastohelsinki via the Helmet system, but you might need to wait a bit as there are only 3 copies. Obviously you can buy it as well, and then borrow to your friends.
I've failed to actually think of things to post on #Instagram, so I thought maybe I could review the #vegan things I'm trying out. Instagram users like #food right? And after going mostly #vegetarian over the recent years, I'm now attempting to go fully vegan. Partially after reading the excellent book by @suviauvi, "Lihan Loppu". Totally recommend it, it takes meat eating through a grinder.
So! First up, some #hummus. The left, "Pirkka Parhaat aurinkokuivattu tomaatti" hummus is actually the first hummus I've ever bought. Thank you @selmadreams for teaching me such a delicious thing exists. Extremely creamy and tasty, goes well on top of some hapankorppu ("crisp rye bread"), have been buying this for a while now 💚 Points: 5/5
"Sevan valkosipuli" (garlic) hummus is something new I tried today for the first time. More like spread rather than the slightly more uneven texture of the other one. Extremely strong taste of garlic, so possibly best on it's own on top of ... for example hapankorppu! Slightly more expensive, possibly due to being an import. Would buy again 👌 Points: 4/5
