@JessTheUnstill I wrote a python script that can convert your (mainly Dutch) bank statements from xls/csv/pdf into a standardized csv format that you can easily import in #gnucash. Not sure many people are using it, but I love the feeling of less than 1 second conversion every time I use it haha.

Is there an open source #Android app (preferably via #fdroid) which allows you to track how much money you spend? Something like #HomeBank or #gnuCash but for the mobile phone?
The features I'd like to have: Multiple accounts (e.g., bank, cash, savings), categories for each transaction, recurring transactions (e.g. for rent)

Thus, the BasicCashFlow app from the fdroid store is not sufficient for me.

#FOSS

I'm thinking about starting to use an app for tracking my personal finances. (Currently doing everything in spreadsheets)

Any software recommendation for managing personal finances? #gnuCash? #fireflyIII? something else? (Requirement: FOSS that can run locally/self-hosted)

I'm interested in what people use :)

@nobodyinperson (via #GNUcash hastag) for me, GNUcash "feels" natural, but i'm basically an accountant with proper IT skills, by trade. 😉 (German: Informatikkaufmann)

GNUcash does indeed require basic knowledge of #accounting records - the scheme, an Italian invented, iirc - active vs. passive accounts - expressed as a transaction statement - every single bit of value FLOWS from a source to a destination "account", of a certain type.
