The first global stocktake marks an important step in enabling Parties to the Paris Agreement to enhance their climate actions and support with the aim of achieving long-term goals. Two co-facilitators of the technical dialogue discuss the process, findings, relationship with political outcomes and implications for future negotiations.
2024-01-29T16:00:00 bis 2024-01-29T17:30:00 This online seminar on 29 January 2024 (16:00-17:30 CET) will discuss how to leverage the outputs of the Global Stocktake (GST) for more ambitious climate action. The discussion will be based on a policy paper on this topic and shall inform further work on this paper, also taking into consideration the outputs of the GST as well as the NDC policy process.
So, 🇺🇸 and 🇬🇧 can have their new natural gas leases 🇫🇷 et al can have new ☢️ and 🇩🇪 FDP/CDU can run their BMWs on E-fuels, as long as they call them “transition fuels”?
Or should we read paragraphs 28(e) and 29 differently?

here is the link to #GlobalStockTake latest draft text. Paras 28 and 29 are the #EnergyTransition package, and it still refuses to acknowledge need for #FossilFuelPhaseout😡 , with loopholes for continuing #Fossilgas as a 'transition fuel', use of abatement technologies like CCS.
