#GlitchySocial #Mastodon instance has 5 users now, including me. Only one of them never logged in after registration. It took a blink of an eye to transfer from “hey, I should try to #selfhost a Mastodon instance” to “hey, I’m a service provider now”. Can’t say I’ve got much power but responsibility for sure.

@spikybaddie I started #GlitchySocial as a single-user #Mastodon instance. It was fun. Now I have 4 users, 2.5 are active (including me). So I made a website, a status page and a logo which is even more fun: https://www.glitchy.social/.
Mastodon and Matrix Server | Glitchy.Social

Matrix Server

#GlitchySocial #Matrix server now has #WhatsApp and #Signal bridges available for all its users. But I also decided to make the server closed, because maintaining #Element stack with bridges is a pain in the ass, so it’s better to have only a few users I know and trust.

Matrix Server

I set up a #Telegram bridge for my #Matrix #Synapse server. Again.

It is much more stable than I remember. Also, I found out you should restart #Synapse along with the bridge to make things work continuously. Restarting only the bridge breaks a connection from Synapse to the bridge’s app service, and restoring it takes a lot of time somehow.

Daily Matrix and Mastodon backups with zero downtime | yevi.org

As I now run my own Mastodon instance where anyone can request registration, there are goals to achieve with it. For example, the Mastodon Server Covenant. There is "Daily backups" among other requirements, and today's story is about that. It involves Proxmox Backup Server, Ansible, and Tailscale as the three pillars of "Daily Matrix and Mastodon backups with zero downtime."

I have a new blog post. It is surprisingly not a list of technical terms and bash commands.

Glitchy.Social. The beginning | yevi.org

I've decided that the computing power of my Hetzner dedicated server allows me to provide some services to others. This is where Glitchy.Social has started.
