~meoralis~Another #ThrowbackThursday #TBT: 4 years ago today we visited the first #GlacisOpenAir in #Magdeburg. It was magical! A free family-friendly subculture #festival with live music, food, theatre, poetry slam, exhibitions, BMX contests, workshops, movies, panels, games โ and quiet corners like this one.
Sadly, the organisers had to cancel it after 3 years. The costs were too high (for things like insurance and security), and they also faced issues with risk and a lack of volunteers, as they explained in a heartfelt open letter. ๐ The highest number of visitors was around 12,000 in 2023, the last edition of the Glacis Open Air. Not too bad for Magdeburg!
