We are a nonprofit, independent news organization that gathers and disseminates news about important public policy issues to Miami. Our project will develop strong community journalism and put it on solid footing, allowing us to develop sustainable news gathering. Our mission is real news: transparency and accountability in government, without fear or favor. As our community is a threatened barrier island at the intersection of state, county, and federal parks, our unique environment will be a distinctive part of our coverage, along with arts and culture. Our first project is in Key Biscayne, but our longterm vision is to expand strong nonprofit hyperlocal news to other communities in Miami-Dade County, especially underserved ones.
