@sotirisrex "Within [central banking] systems, the interest rates are decided by large financial institutions. They vote on new issuance of money via interest rates. Lowering rates almost always benefits these institutions, but harms holders of existing money. As such, all central bank currencies lose value over time. This lost value is captured by these financial institutions. This incentivizes banks to behave contrarily to the users and holders of their currencies." - #GiveLotus whitepaper

"Lotus holders decide the supply by burning transaction fees. They are not issued new currency for their votes as with existing central bank systems. The value of user holdings are subject to their decisions. Bad decisions reduce the value of their holdings. Appropriate decisions about supply management reward everyone through maximal token value. This incentive structure keeps holders honest." - #GiveLotus whitepaper

"[The Lotus project] obviates the need for complicated technical solutions with the realization that people are ultimately the problem and the solution. It follows in the footsteps of Satoshi Nakamoto by using incentives to align behavior." - #GiveLotus whitepaper

"The Lotus project provides a simple, efficient, and productive mechanism for providing funding to push forward the dream of a better, less violent, more free world." - #GiveLotus whitepaper

Wouldn't it be great for valuable projects if they could be funded consistently by ethical money instead of funded inconsistently through donations of blood money?

The problem with cryptocurrency as viable money is that it cannot be a unit of account while priced in another unit of account, e.g. USD.

Lotus solves this problem by adjusting inflation to demand, as opposed to a "hard supply cap", thereby allowing for price stability.

"Due to the lack of ability to stabilize the value of the cryptocurrencies, they are unsuitable for being a unit of
account in trades which involve a time-delay between price agreement and redemption." - #GiveLotus whitepaper
