Out giving blood at the moment. For the first time ever I have slightly mixed feelings about it. I've been on such a tear with my fitness for the last six weeks (multiple 6k PBs, a 10k Pb, and doing more than ever in the gym) that the regression giving blood inevitably causes is making this actually feel like a sacrifice for the first time.
But I'm fortunate enough to be able to give blood with no issues, so of course I'm gonna keep doing it. I'm just gonna whine a little about it :p
About to blood let again! Great excuse for extra large portion of sausage, beans and mash earlier!
Always nice to get complimented on my veins π
I'm glad that NHS Blood & Transplant have started sending these SMS messages again. Gives me a little warm feeling inside.
"Thank you so much for donating on 4-Sep. Your donation has now been issued to North Tees University Hospital. Every donation counts."
First blood donation for ages, and only the second (out of 60+) that's had a bit of a bleed while I've been availing myself of the snacks.
Seems to be a much wider selection of snacks now, but slightly disappointed that there were no crisps. You do seem to be encouraged to have more than one snack though, which is nice.
Just failed my platelets donation. Low draw pressure, they just couldn't get any blood from my arm after the first return, they were worried about needle placement and bruising, so had to give up.
I've got to wait 4 weeks now.
