Just started relying on a Codeberg Git repo a few days ago in a workflow and this morning it's down... :(
There's no status message for the current downtime?
Edit: Codeberg website and git repos are back up after maybe ten minutes of downtime, but hosted Woodpecker is still down.
Second edit: Everything is back up! πͺ
Question: what commercial EU-based Git hosting services can you recommend?
Codeberg is great for Open Source, but I am thinking along the lines of larger personal or commercial projects that are not suitable for a non-profit like Codeberg.

For a long time, #GitHub was the dominant hosting platform for #FOSS (#OpenSource and #FreeSoftware), and #Bitbucket tried to compete with them.
Looks like both companies are determined to end this era:
First, GitHub started shoving all this AI crap down people's throats. Realizing they probably haven't alienated *everyone* in the FOSS community yet, they now decided to charge money for CI/CD even if you run the build runner on your own machine.
Source: see the quoted post
Meanwhile, #Atlassian gets creative as well: Bitbucket will no longer support forking repos to other projects, and this prevents outsiders from contributing easily to projects. They say the change helps with enterprise features like data residency. That may be true, but I say it also means "goodbye, FOSS".
I guess @Codeberg and other non-commercial #Forge|s should start preparing for a large influx of FOSS projects that flee from these #enshittification platforms.
π Friday Evening at the Lighthouse
As the week exhales, the Lighthouse glows a little warmer.
Servers hum, seas settle, and the noise of the wider web fades into mist.
No rush. No shouting. Just steady lights and quiet signals for those who prefer calmer waters.
β Welcome in.

Do you know a web app to show combined contributions in different code forges or code hostings?
Like I could check sum of contributions in various Forgejo instances(like Codeberg), Github and Gitlab.
If you don't know a webapp, boosts are appreciated.

okies, decided, today's the day... gonna start moving my repositories to codeberg... notabug.org's too consistently inconsistently available. n_n a little sad. mmmmmmuch fondness for notabug.org. ... i wonder, if i leave the repository off the end of the url in codeberg's migration tool... does it allow migrating everything in one go? :3
or should i skip codeberg, and go full forgejo? :)
#git #githosting #gitforge #notabug #codeberg #forgejo #forgefed
