The House at the Edge of the Park is a often overlooked as just a vile exploitation flick about home invasion. I think it's a lot better than that. Also the performances by David Hess and Giovanni Lombardo Radice are just fantastic.

„Cannibal Apocalypse“
1980
Dir: Antonio Margheriti

One of Margheriti‘s best. Great performance by Giovanni Lombardo Radice.

So sad to hear that Giovanni Lombardo Radice, a.k.a. John Morghen, has passed. The Italian actor / screenwriter was an integral part of the Italian horror boom of the 1980s, memorably playing ostracised, flamboyant and unhinged characters for Lucio Fulci, Ruggero Deodato, Umberto Lenzi, Michele Soavi, Antonio Margheriti and Joe D'Amato. Unforgettable as Bob, the disturbed, doomed, persecuted loner in City of the Living Dead (1980)

#ThisNightIllWatchYour 4k UHD release from #88Films of #RuggeroDeodato's "La casa sperduta nel parco" ("The House on the Edge of the Park," 1980). I was previously lukewarm on this, but it feels like a filmic hand grenade for the present day, w/its tightly-focused misanthropy. #DavidHess #GiovanniLombardoRadice #AnnieBelle #LorraineDeSelle #HouseOnTheEdgeOfThePark
