Day 19 of the gin advent calendar. Tonight's was the North Uist Downpour Gin. It caused... a reaction. One of us thought it was a decent citrus gin, the other thought it was a fire hazard.
Honestly, we're still baffled that people are watching this. Two people, a camera, and a box of tiny gins. It's the pinnacle of internet content, surely.

Last Thursday, I attended a #GinTasting as part of a session by #TheJuniperCollective and ended up purchasing my favourite of the night a bottle of @sandymountdistillery Tī Kōuka Forest Gin.

Das Format hatte ich bei @penninger während Corona ausprobiert. Da fehlt mir die in-persona-Komponente, wie ich bei einem #GinTasting in Behringersmühle herausfand.

I'm planning a gin tasting evening and wondering how many gins to bring along.
Format of the evening: I'll talk guests through each gin, just enough to get an idea of what it's about. I'll also share brief overview of how gin is made, and have some fun with a gin aroma training kit. We'll taste each gin neat, then add ice and a mixer to finish it off.
So, imagine you're at an event like that. How many gins would you prefer to taste?
Good tasting day today, handed out a few 10/10 perfect scores. Only a couple of duds. Lists for all but two flavour groups starting to look fairly settled and complete.
Can't say yet which ones got top marks - got to keep something back for the book! - but I can say one was French, one was South African and two were English.
