This Is My GlasgowThis is a great ghost sign on Blythswood Street in Glasgow. It's a throwback to a time when people needed tailor-made gowns, everyone wore hats and fur was acceptable. It's part of an advert for G.S. Nichols at 186 Bath Street.
I love this ghost sign advertising Regalia Old Highland 22nd Whisky on the outer wall of the former Western Bar on Peel Street in Partick, Glasgow.

From here, they produced their upmarket knitwear which was sold by the likes of Selfridges, House of Fraser and Harrods. Their products were seen as being particularly fashionable in the 1960s and 1970s, but by the start of the 1980s it was in decline and it soon closed.

Love this ghost sign, which was uncovered and restored as the old Twomax knitwear factory in the Gorbals area of Glasgow was being converted into residential flats.
Twomax was started in a disused pub in the Bridgeton by Hugh McClure and Donald McIntosh (the two Macs from which its name was derived), before moving to this location on Old Rutherglen Road.

Love this ghost sign painted on a wall beside the entrance to a tenement on West Princes Street in the Woodlands area of Glasgow. There's a certain irony that they threaten to prosecute people who write in walls, as part of a sign written on that very same wall!
An old Rely-A-Bell burglar alarm box on a wall in the Hidden Lane in Glasgow. First created around 1904, Rely-A-Bell alarms were initially manufactured by the London ironmonger Thomas Gunn. It was spun off into its own company, the Rely-a-Bell Burglar and Fire Alarm Company Limited, in 1921. It's believed to be the oldest burglar alarm company in the UK.
