FujitsuSiemens Scenic/Esprimo E620 mit Core2Duo (LGA775) & DDR2-RAM, da ist allerdings nen seperates Fan-Shroud alla Dell Opliplex / Dimension Desktops dran wo die Luft durch den CPU-Kühler seitlich abgesaugt wurde.

Die Onboard-Grafik war bei denen leider mau und nur wegen dem Netzteil das auch absaugte ist mir die Quadro NVS285 nicht dem Hitzetod gestorben...

Grundsätzlich wäre viel mehr möglich wenn #Intel & #AMD engere Spezifikationen fassen... - Allerdings gab es das schonmal mit festgelegten Bauteilpositionen und jener Standard starb mit #Socket775 & dem Aussterben der off-die #Northbridge, weil #RAM plötzlich viel dichter an die CPU ranrücken musste... Somit ergibt sich das dilemma *"zu offener" Standards*... - Ich selbst bin daher ein Fan möglichst von #Servern & #Workstations zu kopieren und im Zweifelsfalle entsprechende *"Blower"*-Karten und *"Tower"*-Kühler zu verbaun und halt mit viel Airflow und vorallen statischen Druck zu arbeiten... Aber das kommt halt davon wenn Mensch #Surplus-Hardware wie Server-#GPU|s mit speziellen [Airflow-Ducts](https://www.ebay.de/itm/316841484405) und Notfalls zusätzliche Noctua IndustrialPPM 3000rpm 120mm auf [PCI-Slots](https://www.ebay.de/itm/177353648619), wobei ein gut abgestimmtes Setup dieser Art leise sein kann...

@cleantext I mean, lets be realistic: #Netbooks that struggled to run #WindowsXP ain't something people were crazed about (besides the excellent #EeePC which came with it's nicely customized #Xandros-based #Linux desktop that put the 7" 480x800px screen to good use!)…

OFC one would today rather pick a #Pi0 v1.3, #Pi0W or #Pi0W2 which are all faster, more power efficient and cheaper instead of hardware (soon) old enough to legally buy liquor in Germany.

Not to mention being able to basically run everything off 5V makes it trivial to "outsorce" the "power problem" to some cheap USB powerbank with multiple ports.

So yeah, "#Ghettohacking" a #Laptop that can even do a #GUI is cheap and relatively easy these days...

@ainmosni @Zugschlus @elly It's not that easy but also if users go out of their way to violate best practises as hinted by you then the only way to deal with that is to make them face #accountability and #consequences!

And I don't mean firing people and letting them off the hook but forcing those that fucked up to bear the cost of fixing the mess and install prevention measures if not migrate to a different OS!

I just think we all need to stop accepting, respecting or even tolerating #ProfessionalMalpractice in #IT!

Just like with #cars and #ElectricalStandard where we don't accept "#Ghettohacking" and non-compliant DIY!

I mean if I were to drive 200km/h in a 30km/h zone I should not complain that police will knock on my door and confiscate my driving license and serve me with a summons for court - and we should dish out the same for "criminally gross neglect" in IT...
