The 90-minute film “A Film Unfinished” (“Shtikat Haarchion” / “Geheimsache #Ghettofilm”) shows how the #Warsaw ghetto was used by the Nazis for film work that deliberately contrasted hunger and death with the staged luxury lifestyle of a few Jews. The people who commissioned the material remain unknown to this day.
For a long time, the raw material was uncritically treated as a true “documentary”, until newly discovered film footage, research, and interviews with those affected revealed how meticulously the scenes were staged, often with several takes until the shot was "right."
