Coming home on our last afternoon in Cannon Beach, a group of elk roams the neighborhood, including these two seen over the fence in the property next door to our rental. Dear stately, slow-moving, beautiful elk people: please help us get back to the coast sometime soon.

Today, in inhospitable #weather and after a sleepless night for me, walking was minimal. We did drive out to the lovely country near #Tillamook and put our feet on the ground for a few steps at Cape Lookout and Cape Meares, where a sleeping #lighthouse stands, supposedly one of only two in the world that are eight-sided.
