I’ve probably griped before, but been playing too much House Flipper recently, that it’s jumping out at me again.
DRM is the best thing that could have happened to piracy.
I am unable to play any 4K Blu-ray I bought. And according to German law, it would be a criminal offense to circumvent the protections on the plastic disc I own.
I'm not saying I'd ever pirate anything.
I'm just saying that it's objectively better, cheaper, easier and arguably less criminal than my other options.

One of the joys in life is being on a Mastodon server hosted in German. The #freespeech #anarchy used in the #USA as cover for extremists is kicked by #GermanLaw. #Troll posts that route through #GDR will make nice #evidence for #court.
